checkmaster.net bot

If you see the user agent checkmaster.net-Bot in your server logs, someone has started a website check for your site.

Our crawler works strictly passively: it requests the home page and publicly linked pages, reads robots.txt and sitemap.xml and checks public DNS records. It performs no port scans, login attempts or attacks.

To check whether AI services can reach your site, it also requests the home page with the identifiers of OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, Claude-User and PerplexityBot. Our own identifier is always appended so that you can tell these requests apart from the real crawlers.
